When the news broke that Newark Mayor Cory Booker was Tweeting with a dancer at a vegan strip club in Portland, many asked, “There’s a vegan strip club??”
But Casa Diablo, the no-animal-products-allowed strip joint where Booker’s Twitter-friend works, is far from the only uniquely-themed establishment where women entertainers bare all. And that got us wondering what else is out there.
Turns out that themed or niche strip clubs are less popular than you might imagine.

Residents of San Francisco and surrounding cities woke to inhale terrible air on Friday, choking on smoke from the deadly Camp Fire more than 150 miles away, officials said.
The Air Quality Index, a measure of dangerous smoke and exhaust particulates in the air, reached 246 in Oakland and 239 in San Francisco by late Friday afternoon, well into the zone of “very unhealthy.”
Those AQI measurements from San Francisco and Oakland on Friday are the worst in the 20 years of their recorded air-quality history, according to Kristine Roselius, a spokeswoman for the Bay Area Air Quality Management District.
A group of blind movie patrons filed a federal class action suit this week against AMC Theatres, one of the nation’s largest movie theater chains, alleging that AMC discriminates against blind moviegoers.
The lawsuit claims that AMC fails to provide working audio-description devices for visually impaired kids and adults, instead offering broken devices or ones with dead batteries, as well as frequently handing out devices meant for the hard of hearing instead.
